Stable isotope data fall in a zone where different source areas (i.e. Carrara, Marmara, Paros, Thasos, Hymettus, Aphrodisias, Afyon, Göktepe, Naxos) overlap and the data are not conclusive. Under cathodoluminescence, this marble shows the characteristic pattern of marbles from Usak. Stable isotopes and texture are in agreement with this diagnosis. There is some uncertainty concerning this potential provenance. Discrimination with respect to other Turkish marbles is more difficult because Turkish marbles show a great diversity of cathodomicrofacies.
