Stable isotope data fall in a zone where different source areas (i.e. Afyon, Aphrodisias, Ephesos, Denizli, Mugla) overlap and the data are not conclusive. The texture, the MGS and the cathodomicrofacies pattern don’t match those of the Afyon marbles. The cathodomicrofacies of the marbles from the other places are rather different in our data bank. On the basis of the archaeological context and the isotopic signature, the quarry of origin of this marble is situated in Turkey.
