Gypsum origin: Tuscany (Italy)
The provenance of the gypsum of this artefact is local. This rock was extracted from the subsoil of Tuscany. The Miocene gypsum of the areas of Volterra and Castellina Marittima are particularly famous and were worked by the Etruscans as early as the 8th century BC.
