References
The relief fragment depicts a branch of a plane tree with the remains of a bird's wing. The skill of Imperial period sculptors is illustrated by the virtuoso carving of the relief.
Marble analyses conducted by Danielle Decrouez (Geneva, Museum of Natural History) and Karl Ramseyer (University of Bern, Institute of Geological Sciences) have shown that the relief was made of Göktepe marble. Click here for the detailed results.
