5 x 21 cm
second half of the 4th century A.D.
Unbleached linen warp, purple wool weft.
Between two running dogs, there is a fleeing hare. Altough the figures are divided from each other by heavy borders, the hare and the dogs constitute a unified composition. Similar pictorial units may well have followed each other along the border, indicating the fine quality of the iconographic models used in the workshop where the tapestry was produced.
